Building Hope Through Collaboration
In June 2022, a meaningful partnership began when Ms. Sarah Nakawesa, Founder of Kachance Kids Uganda, met with Ms. Lydia Nakitende, Headteacher of Exodus Josh Primary School, and Mr. Mukasa, School Director. Together, they discussed the urgent challenges faced by teachers and children in the school inadequate learning materials, poor classroom structures, and the daily struggles of families living in poverty. The meeting laid the foundation for a shared vision: to promote quality education and reduce poverty across communities in Wakiso District.
Turning Commitment into Action
Just a few months later, in October 2022, Kachance Kids Uganda took a bold step to transform that vision into reality.
The organisation donated funds to renovate classrooms, creating a safer and more inspiring environment for learning. The team also provided scholastic materials, food, clothing, and sanitary items, addressing both educational and welfare needs of the pupils. What began as a single act of compassion has grown into a sustainable partnership grounded in love, education, and community empowerment.
Lasting Impact
Since the partnership started: School enrollment has risen from 80 to over 220 pupils. The number of teachers has increased from 4 to 9, plus a dedicated cook. Over 70 vulnerable children now live safely at the school. New skills training clubs in tailoring, baking, computer literacy, and metalwork have been introduced. Children are learning with joy, dignity, and renewed hop.
