Kachance Kids Welfare Outreach

Kachance Kids Welfare Outreach – Exodus Primary School, Wakiso District

As part of Kachance Kids’ strategic goal to enhance the welfare and educational opportunities of vulnerable children, the organisation conducted a welfare outreach visit on 10th November 2022 to Exodus Primary School in Wakiso District. The school serves many children from financially disadvantaged families, who face daily challenges in accessing necessities and learning materials.

The outreach aimed to improve the children’s well-being and create a more supportive learning environment. During the visit, the Kachance Kids team distributed essential household and educational supplies, including sugar, soap, toothpaste, and other hygiene products and learning mateials.

These items were provided to support both personal hygiene and educational engagement, helping children maintain good health and focus on their studies.

This activity aligns with Kachance Kids’ core objective of improving the quality of life for disadvantaged children through education, health, and welfare interventions. The organisation remains committed to reaching more schools and communities to ensure that every child has an opportunity to thrive.

Motivational talks with the learners

In addition to material support, the team conducted interactive and motivational sessions that encouraged learners to remain positive, disciplined, and committed to their education. Teachers also participated, reinforcing key messages about self esteem and perseverance.

Key Achievements and Impact

The outreach created a renewed sense of hope and excitement among the children. Many of them expressed happiness at receiving items that are often considered a luxury in their homes. Teachers observed improved classroom participation, discipline, and attentiveness in the days following the visit. The presence of Kachance Kids also gave the pupils a strong sense of being valued and cared for an important emotional boost that enhances self esteem and the desire to stay in school.

Improved Morale | Household Relief | Educational Enhancement | Strengthened Community Partnership

Most of the learners at Exodus Josh Primary School come from low-income households that struggle to afford basic essentials. The distribution of sugar, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper and sanitary pads provided immediate relief to families by reducing daily living costs. Parents and guardians shared that these contributions helped free up scarce household funds for other needs such as food and school fees. For female learners, the provision of sanitary pads helped improve menstrual hygiene management, reducing absenteeism and stigma.

Before the visit, teachers highlighted a critical shortage of learning materials, which limited student participation. Kachance Kids addressed this by supplying exercise books, pens, pencils, and other scholastic materials. This support allowed each learner to have personal study materials both at school and home, resulting in improved engagement and performance. The availability of these tools also encouraged teachers to adopt more interactive learning methods, fostering better academic outcomes.

The outreach fostered stronger ties between Kachance Kids, the school administration, and the surrounding community. The headteacher and staff expressed deep appreciation for the timely intervention and pledged continued collaboration in supporting children’s welfare. The event also enhanced community awareness of Kachance Kids’ mission, attracting positive feedback and potential partnership opportunities with local leaders and parents.

Through this outreach, Kachance Kids strengthened its public presence in Wakiso District. The initiative showcased the organisation’s commitment to child welfare and practical community impact. Local stakeholders, including school authorities and parents, recognized the organisation as a dependable partner in promoting education and social welfare. This enhanced visibility has laid the foundation for future collaborations and resource mobilisation.

Conclusion

This welfare outreach demonstrated Kachance Kids’ continued commitment to uplifting underprivileged children through education, welfare, and community partnership initiatives. The success of this activity reinforces the organisation’s vision to give every child the chance to grow, learn, and thrive in a supportive environment.

Kachance Kids plans to extend similar welfare programs to other schools within Wakiso District and beyond, ensuring that no child is left behind.
